- April 19 Father Daughter Dance
Annual dinner dance sponsored by the PTA. Please register in advance. Cost is $25 per couple.
- Apr. 25th –School Site Council and ELAC meeting 2:20-3:20pm
If your child is an English Learner, please attend our ELAC meeting.
- May 1-10th-STAR TESTING
The California Standards Test will be administered to students in grades 2-5. Students should get plenty of sleep, eat a nutricious breakfast and arrive to school on time. Most grades have 6 days of testing and fourth grade four days. Testing will be from 8:30 - 10:30 each day and tardy students will have to make-up tests.

We have a fundraiser for our Coloma Discovery School Field Trip in 2014. You can order gift cards and GH gets a small profit. If you order Amazon gift cards and use them to shop at our link above, we get money twice! CLICK HERE FOR ORDER FORM. Gift cards are available in the office for purchase.

Dear Green Hills Families,
Welcome back from Spring Break! Below are a few updates for Green Hills school.
SAVE-THE-DATE! Get your tickets for the April 19th Green Hills father/daughter dance.
On Thursday, March 28, Millbrae Fire Department and San Mateo County Sherriff’s Department joined forces to support Green Hills School in practice for effective Lockdown and Fire Drills. Staff and students have been practicing safety skills all year, and it shows! Both fire and Sherriff departments gave positive feedback to our staff and students for their response and rapid evacuation during the drill.
Kohl Mansion spring music assemblies have begun at Green Hills School. Inspired by the belief that the arts strengthen communities, “Music at Kohl Mansion” presents world-class chamber concerts and assemblies for public schools on the San Francisco Peninsula. Third-fifth grade students started the first day back from spring break with a morning of classical music. Assemblies for Kindergarten-second grade will be upcoming.
Our character Pillar for the month of April is FAIRNESS. Fairness means: Play by the rules, take turns and share, be open-minded (listen to others), don’t blame others carelessly.

Leadership toy drive
The leadership club is collecting new toys (books, puzzles, travel games, small toys, accessories, board games, puzzle books, playing cards…) for children at Stanford Hospital. There is an organization at the hospital that visits the children with a cart full of items for the children to choose from. These small items are a little bit of sunshine for kids who are confined to their hospital rooms. Any donations would be appreciated. Please bring your donations to Room 4 through April 19th.
New Volunteer Procedures
Please note that by the start of the 2013-14 school year, ALL volunteers (parents and non-parents) must be fingerprinted and have a clear TB test on file in order to serve as school or classroom volunteers (ex. classroom and school student supervision, general help and volunteer activities, drivers, or chaperones on fieldtrips). If you have not done so already, please plan ahead so that you are fingerprinted by the start of the upcoming 2013-14 school year. We really value your help, and want you to continue your good work as volunteers. You may pick up a form in our school office and receive more information.
