PICTURE DAY - Wednesday, May 29th during Music Class Pictures will be taken next Wednesday (5/29) during music classes throughout the school day. Students need to show up in uniform. Students should wear all or part of their black-and white to school, and can bring their cummerbunds and bow ties separately and put them on during music class. The more they can wear to school the better because the periods are short on Wednesdays and we don't want them to miss the picture if they are still changing! UNIFORM COLLECTION - Wednesday, May 29th, following the pictures. It would be great to get at least one parent to help collect uniforms from the kids in second period (9:16-10:06), third period (10:25-11:08) and fifth period (12:30-1:13). Please contact Marilyn if you can help. millbremusicinfo@gmail.com ********************* DISNEYLAND?? - We need your input We are discussing the possibility of a trip to Disneyland for the band for next year. This would be over a long weekend, by bus, probably in the spring. The earlier we decide this, the better deal we can get for the cost. In order to even consider doing this, we need to make sure we have 15-20 parent chaperones willing to accompany the kids. If you are a parent of a 6th or 7th grader and would consider being a chaperone for this trip next year, please email Marilyn millbremusicinfo@gmail.com. This is not a commitment, but an early barometer of whether or not we're even close to having enough parents to support the trip.
In addition to chaperones we'll need other parents to
volunteer to help out beforehand. You've all been great at that, so I have
no doubt we'll get the help we need here.
******************* High school Music Info: If you have an 8th grader who's considering the music program at Mills, please take a look at the Mills Music Website: http://millsmusic.org/Mills_Music/Home.html, and take a look at this flyer for additional information: https://www.dropbox.com/s/ej1kkgmmhxvjvld/Mills%20flyer.pdf. Mills has excellent programs for Choir, Symphonic Band, Jazz Band, and Orchestra, led by Doug Miner. |
